I'm still coming back to earth after a heavenly US tour. Starting in Atlanta, I made my way up the eastern seaboard show by show, eventually ending up in Boston.

Sixteen shows in three weeks makes for a lot of memories. But a few stand out:

Driving among the fall foliage of the American South (particularly stunning in the area of Asheville, NC... I would love to return there and do some camping with my family some day!)

Serving as a human "field-trip" for the entire student body of Richmond, VA's orthodox girls' high school

Visiting the "Museum of Central Appalachia" on October 31st, and getting there just before two trick-or-treating kindergarten classes

A behind-the-scenes tour of the Library of Congress, thanks to a mailing-list friend, a folk music lover who works there as a Hebraica cataloguer. Particularly stunning was a visit to the Library's American Folklife Center, where the aforementioned friend pulled down Burl Ive's guitar off a shelf, and said, "You wanna play it?"

A too-short Sunday at the Greater Washington Folk Society's Getaway Weekend, where I saw three (!) other Israeli friends, sat in on a finger-style guitar workshop, and experienced the joy of sing-along Doo-Wop.

And of course, I had the wonderful experience of sharing my music with hundreds and hundreds of new audience members in everything from established folk venues to community centers to synagogues to private living rooms.

The success of a tour like this - and thank Gd it was successful - depends on the good will of so many people. My profound thanks to all the big-hearted people who hosted a show, arranged a venue, cleaned out their guest room and/or packed me lunches for the road.

I hope to come back to that great big country SOON!
